If you were to be a banker, a lawyer, a doctor, or even a baker; the school you attend usually has an outline and guideline you can follow to "succeed". There are places you can apply in your junior year of college for an internship, and most of those places will ultimately lead to a job. And based on your own personal perseverance it’s your decision how far up the latter you wish to climb.
No career choice is easy, and anyone that chooses a career in the art world I believe understands this more than most. But the hardest part is, in art school there is no guideline to success. Sure graphic designers can fall under an outlined career path, basic internship to job recipe. But the artist, the painters, the sculptors, the crafters, and illustrators; where do they start? And how do they know this is a good place to start?
Basically in art there are no guarantees, in life there are no guarantees. One just has to hope and pray they are doing the right thing, and are working as hard as one can. These are the artist that started at Cannibal Flower, and used Cannibal Flower as a launching point. They started here, and on their own worked their way up that ever so elusive "latter".

Art News and Interviews
In every profession one must be “in the know” of what is going on in their particular world. I read Juxtapoz and Hi-Fructose religiously and browse the blogs at least 3 times a week. But it’s not easy to always know who is the “who” and where the best art shows will be this upcoming weekend.
And that is why all these lovely people have dedicated their lives, or part of their lives, to doing all that work for you. They funnel the best of best into one webpage, so the next time you’re asked what you think about (blank) doing (blank). You don’t draw a blank.
